FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) - Thousands of German workers staged a fourth day of short walkouts on Friday as the IG Metall union tried to press employers on wage increases.
IG Metall said employees at more than 100 companies, including automakers Audi AG and BMW AG, technology company Siemens AG and others temporarily walked off their jobs.
The brief "warning strikes" are a common tactic in German pay negotiations and are aimed at demonstrating union resolve without seriously curtailing production.
