TORONTO (AP) - The latest installment of "Dome Improvement" had nothing to do with the Toronto Blue Jays as they worked out Monday afternoon.
Most of the noise at the Rogers Centre was being made by construction crews working feverishly to get a series of sharp-looking upgrades in the stands finished in time for Tuesday's season opener with the Minnesota Twins.
General manager J.P. Ricciardi added free agent pitchers A.J. Burnett and B.J. Ryan and traded for infielders Troy Glaus and Lyle Overbay increasing the payroll to from $45 million to around $75 million.
