LAS VEGAS (AP) - Defending Funny Car champion Gary Scelzi got back on track in the NHRA SummitRacing.com Nationals on Saturday, a week after failing to qualify for the championship round in Baytown, Texas.
Scelzi was 12th among the 16 qualifiers Saturday with a quarter-mile pass of 4.813 seconds at 323.97 mph at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Robert Hight topped the list at 4.702 and 327.11, and John Force was second at 4.715 and 326.16 mph.
Tony Schumacher led the Top Fuel field at 4.501 and 327.35, and Greg Anderson topped the Pro Stock qualifiers at 6.787 and 202.82.
