 DETROIT (AP) - Kenny Rogers gave the Detroit Tigers the stability they were looking for in his home debut Friday night.
Rogers pitched eight strong innings, helping Detroit end a four-game losing streak with a 5-1 win over the Cleveland Indians.
"He came through big time," new Tigers manager Jim Leyland said. "A good ballgame is dictated by pitching, and Kenny dictated the game."
