MILWAUKEE (AP) - Coming off the first losing season of the Brett Favre era, there aren't too many spots on the depth chart where the Green Bay Packers couldn't use an upgrade.
There's a certain luxury in that, because it leaves the Packers free to honor the draft-day cliche and truly select the "best player available," regardless of position, with the No. 5 pick in this weekend's NFL draft.
Most projections have the Packers drafting defense, taking linebacker A.J. Hawk or defensive end Mario Williams if he somehow is still available when the Packers are on the clock.
