BEACONSFIELD, Australia (AP) - Rescue crews searching for three workers trapped in an Australian gold mine found one body early Thursday, the mine's operators said. The fate of the other two men remained unknown.
The miners were 3,034 feet underground at the Beaconsfield Gold Mine on the southern island state of Tasmania when a small earthquake triggered a rock fall late Tuesday, the Beaconsfield Gold Mine Joint Venture company said.
Mine manager Matthew Gill said the body was found early Thursday.
