DETROIT (AP) - The Los Angeles Angels placed right-hander Chris Bootcheck on the 15-day disabled list Thursday with a strained left hamstring.
To replace him on the roster, which was made retroactive to Wednesday, Los Angeles recalled outfielder Tommy Murphy from Triple-A Salt Lake.
Bootcheck was hurt while running from the bullpen to the mound during the Angels' brawl with the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday.
