DENVER (AP) - The Houston Astros placed outfielder Chris Burke on the 15-day disabled list with a dislocated left shoulder before Sunday's game with the Colorado Rockies.
Burke was hurt in the sixth inning Saturday when he crashed into the wall in right-center field while catching a ball hit by Garrett Atkins. Burke's shoulder popped out of the socket and popped back in, the Astros said, and he was to return to Houston for an MRI exam.
Houston filled roster spot by purchasing the contract of infielder Joe McEwing from Triple-A Round Rock, where he was batting .268 with two home runs and six RBIs.
