 VALENCIA, Spain (AP) - America's Cup champion Alinghi lost to Luna Rossa, and BMW Oracle Racing barely led the standings on the third day of Act 10 of the Louis Vuitton Cup challenger trials Saturday.
Alinghi took on the new Italian boat and lost out early as Luna Rossa rounded the first mark 7 seconds in front, crossing the finish line 34 seconds ahead.
"Luna Rossa sailed a tidy race, we had our chances and couldn't convert them into advantages." said Brad Butterworth, the tactician aboard Alinghi.
