N'DJAMENA, Chad (AP) - President Idriss Deby, who faced only token opposition in this month's presidential election, overwhelmingly won a third term, the electoral commission said, 12 days after the vote that was boycotted by the main opposition alliance.
Chad's electoral commission said Sunday that Deby won 77.6 percent of the vote.
"Yesterday I was the candidate of my party. Today, I am the candidate of all Chadians," Deby said after the results were announced.
