SYDNEY, Australia (AP) - An architect charged with plotting a terrorist attack in Australia took the stand at his trial Wednesday and denied involvement in the alleged plot.
Pakistani-born Faheem Khalid Lodhi, 36, is standing trial on four terrorism charges in the New South Wales state Supreme Court. He has pleaded innocent.
The prosecution has alleged in a trial that began three weeks ago that Lodhi used a false name in 2003 to buy two maps of the Australian electricity supply grid, and later downloaded aerial images of three Sydney military bases from the Internet in search of a target.
