South Korea Opposition Leader Recovering

(AP Photo/ Lee Jin-man)SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - A man wielding a box cutter attacked the leader of South Korea's main opposition party on Saturday, slashing her face during a campaign rally.

The man accused of slashing Park Geun-hye, identified only by his last name Ji, and another man who was with him were detained and were being questioned Sunday.

Park, chairwoman of the Grand National Party, suffered a four-inch cut to her face, will be hospitalized for at least a week and will not be able to speak well for months, said Choi Kyung-deuk, spokesman for Severance Hospital.
