CHICAGO (AP) - White Sox shortstop Juan Uribe was hit in the helmet with a pitch from Oakland's Dan Haren on Wednesday night, but wasn't seriously injured.
With a runner at third and two outs in the second inning, Uribe Chicago's No. 9 batter was hit by Haren's first pitch. Uribe then squatted near the plate as he was examined by trainer Herm Schneider and went to the dugout. He was replaced by Pablo Ozuna.
Uribe left the game as a precautionary measure and was evaluated by the White Sox medical staff at U.S. Cellular Field.
