LONDON (AP) - Sir Ken Morrison on Thursday said he plans to retire as chairman of William Morrison Supermarkets PLC in January 2008 after leading the grocery company for four decades.
Morrison, 74, had been under pressure to announce a timetable for handing over to a successor.
Morrisons, Britain's fourth-largest supermarket group, has struggled to integrate its acquisition of British Safeway stores and reported its first annual loss in March.
