SYDNEY, Australia (AP) - A Pakistani-born architect was convicted Monday of plotting a terrorist attack in Australia.
A New South Wales Supreme Court jury convicted Faheem Khalid Lodhi of three charges under Australia's anti-terrorism laws, adopted in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
The laws allow a maximum sentence of life in prison for the most serious charges. The sentencing phase of Lodhi's trial was scheduled to begin June 29.
