BEIJING (AP) - A medium-sized earthquake shook northern China on Tuesday, but no injuries were immediately reported, state television said.
State television said the quake was a magnitude 5.1 and struck around noon in Wen'an county in Hebei province, which surrounds the capital Beijing. The U.S. Geological Survey put the magnitude at 4.9 and said the epicenter was on the Beijing-Hebei border, about 55 miles south of the capital.
The quake could be felt in Beijing but there were no immediate reports of damage.
