RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A man charged in the killing of a musician's family and suspected in a series of other crimes pleaded not guilty Monday as jury selection got under way in his trial.
Ricky Jovan Gray entered the not guilty pleas to multiple counts of capital murder in the New Year's Day killings of Bryan Harvey, 49; his wife, Kathryn Harvey, 39; and their daughters Stella, 9, and Ruby, 4. The Harveys were discovered in the basement of their burning home, bound in duct tape and beaten, with their throats cut.
Gray and his nephew Ray Joseph Dandridge, both 29, are suspected in a string of bloody crimes that began in November, including the killing of another family just five days after the Harveys were killed.
