NEW YORK (AP) - The dollar fell against most major currencies Tuesday after data showed inflation at the wholesale level edging up only slightly casting doubt on prospects for another interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve.
The 12-nation euro bought $1.2782 in afternoon New York trading, up from $1.2719 in New York late Monday. The British pound rose to $1.8931 from $1.8878.
The dollar also fell against the Japanese currency, dropping to 116.07 yen from 116.67 yen.
