The FBI said Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, that it was assisting Michigan authorities in the investigation of three Palestinian-American men from Texas who were jailed on terrorism-related charges in Caro, Mich. Tuscola County prosecutor Mark E. Reene told reporters Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, that investigators believe the men were targeting the 5-mile-long Mackinac Bridge, which connects Michigan's Upper and Lower peninsulas. Ali Houssaiky and Osama Sabhi Abulhassan, both of Dearborn, Mich., left jail after each posted a $1,000 bond on the remaining misdemeanor counts of falsification.

"We know it was just a matter of time. We were just hoping it wouldn't be forever," Abulhassan said. "Everybody knew we were innocent. We knew we were innocent."
