LONDON (AP) - The U.S. dollar fell against other major currencies in late European trading Wednesday. Gold prices rose.
The euro traded at $1.2847, up from $1.2782 Tuesday. Later, in midday trading in New York, the euro fetched $1.2860.
Other dollar rates in Europe, compared with late Tuesday, included 115.83 Japanese yen, down from 116.07; 1.2284 Swiss francs, down from 1.2371; and 1.1167 Canadian dollars, down from 1.1228.
