NEW YORK (AP) - U.S. government bonds finished the week on a high note, building on recent gains after a non-threatening speech from Federal Reserve President Ben Bernanke.
At 5 p.m., the 10-year Treasury note was up 4/32 from late Thursday. Its yield fell to 4.79 percent from 4.80 percent. Earlier, the yield hit its lowest point since the end of March, at 4.78 percent.
The 30-year bond was up 7/32, yielding 4.93 percent, down from 4.94 percent.
