OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) - Casual dining chain Applebee's International Inc. has officially named Dave Goebel as the company's new chief executive officer.
The Overland Park, Kan.-based company had announced its intention to name Goebel to the post in January and the board of directors made the appointment official Friday.
Goebel, 56, current president and chief operating officer, will assume the job Sept. 5. He will replace current CEO Lloyd Hill, who will remain chairman of the board. Hill announced in January that he would step down as CEO this summer and tapped Goebel as his replacement.
