ABERDEEN, Md. (AP) - Cal Ripken has plenty on his mind these days, most notably raising two teenagers and overseeing a vast enterprise that includes several minor league teams and a flourishing youth baseball program.
Quite often, however, Ripken's thoughts take him to Cooperstown, N.Y. It's been five years since he ended his spectacular 21-year career with the Baltimore Orioles, which means he's eligible to be elected into the Hall of Fame in 2007.
"I can't help but think about it in some ways, because I'm asked about it a lot. And it's exciting," Ripken said in an interview with The Associated Press. "You wonder exactly how it's going to go, so there is a natural tendency to start anticipating it."
