A's May Force Raiders to Switch Dates

Wednesday, September 27, 2006 2:50:31 PM
By JOSH DUBOW

Oakland Raiders quarterback Marques Tuiasosopo drops back to pass as he is protected by offensive lineman Kevin Boothe (67) against the Seattle Seahawks in an NFL exhibition football game in Seattle, Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006. For a team whose offensive coordinator was running a bed and breakfast a year ago, it's only fitting that one of its starting offensive linemen majored in hotel administration at Cornell. Yet it's Boothe's ability to hold off defenders, not run a hotel that has earned him a likely starting spot for the Raiders on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. (AP Photo/Elaine Thompson)OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - If the Oakland Athletics make it all the way to the World Series, the Raiders may have to shift the dates of two home games.

The teams share the Coliseum and the Raiders have home games scheduled for Oct. 22 against Arizona and Oct. 29 against Pittsburgh. Those are the scheduled days for Games 2 and 7 of the World Series, which will be hosted by the American League team because the AL won the All-Star game.

Because those Raiders games are not against division opponents, the most likely solution would be to move the games to Monday night if necessary.
