MUMBAI, India (AP) - Dmitry Tursunov of Russia won his first ATP Tour title Monday, defeating Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (5) in the final of the Mumbai Open that was twice interrupted by monsoon showers.
The monsoon lashed the city Sunday, forcing the final to be postponed a day. Rain disrupted the title match for 1 1/2 hours during the second set and again for 30 minutes with the third set 5-5.
"The first title is always special," said Tursunov, whose victory lifted him from a No. 22 ranking into the top 20 for the first time.
