N'DJAMENA, Chad (AP) - Sudanese soldiers crossed the border into eastern Chad to fight a group of Darfur rebels, leaving more than 300 people injured, an aid worker said Sunday.
The fighters wounded in the battle Saturday were taken to a hospital in the town of Bahai, about 550 miles east of the capital, N'Djamena, the aid worker said on condition of anonymity because he was not allowed to speak to the media.
It was not immediately known if there were any fatalities. Chadian government spokesman Hourmadji Moussa Doumgor said that he had no information about the battle.
