WASHINGTON (AP) - Judging by history and the latest math Republicans are likely to lose House seats on Nov. 7.
Democrats now hold a double-digit lead over Republicans on the polling question intended to forecast which party will win control of the House, a gap unseen for at least a decade. Just how many seats and whether the GOP sustains enough losses for Democrats to rise to power is less clear.
Admittedly, the question is imperfect. It doesn't mention candidate names and congressional districts, simply asking voters whether they want Democrats or Republicans in charge.
