DENVER (AP) - Jeff Halpern and Jere Lehtinen each had a goal and two assists and the depleted Dallas Stars beat the Colorado Avalanche 5-4 on Wednesday night.
Trailing 4-3 heading into the third period, Halpern and Sergei Zubov scored goals 1:16 apart in the third quarter to give Dallas a lead it wouldn't give up.
Dallas' scoring spree also ended the night of Avalanche goalie Jose Theodore. Colorado coach Joel Quenneville pulled Theodore with 18:08 remaining in the game and put in Peter Budaj. Theodore saved just 17 of 22 shots.
