MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The nation's biggest concentration of Somali refugees watched the turmoil in their homeland Thursday and wondered whether the withdrawal of Islamist forces from Mogadishu would mean a return to the lawlessness they fled years ago.
Somali government troops backed by Ethiopian forces took control of Somalia's capital city without firing a shot, ousting the Islamist group that had once seemed nearly invincible.
Minnesota has about 30,000 Somali refugees, most of them in the Twin Cities. It is believed to be the largest such concentration in the United States.
