BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Nearly seven months to the day after being eliminated by Carolina in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals, the Buffalo Sabres still have that bitter taste in their mouths.
The Sabres extracted a bit more revenge from their nemesis by sweeping the four-game season series with a 4-1 win over the Hurricanes on Thursday night.
"I don't know how many months it's been, but it's always there," said Buffalo center Chris Drury, who had one of the goals. "But I certainly liked the way we played them this year."
