 STANFORD, Calif. (AP) - Jayne Appel scored 15 points and Kristen Newlin had 12 points and 11 rebounds to lead No. 14 Stanford to an 86-58 win over Arizona on Thursday night.
Candice Wiggins, the Cardinal's leading scorer who was playing for the first time since sitting out two games with a sprained left hamstring, also had 12 points for Stanford (8-3, 3-0 Pac-10). The two-time All-American and Pac-10 player of the year missed her first seven shots and finished 4-of-12 from the floor.
Brooke Smith added 12 points and five rebounds for Stanford, which won its sixth straight and extended its conference home winning streak to 47 games.
