Sabres Top Thrashers in East Showdown

(AP) - In a matchup of the Eastern Conference's best teams, the Buffalo Sabres got some payback against the Atlanta Thrashers.

Thomas Vanek had two goals and an assist, and Ryan Miller made 29 saves in Buffalo's 4-1 victory over the Thrashers on Saturday night.

The victory pushed Buffalo seven points ahead of Atlanta for the top spot in the conference.
