 GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Curtis Joseph moved up the career victory list in style. Joseph stopped all 40 shots he faced for his 437th win, tying Jacques Plante for fifth place, and the Phoenix Coyotes beat the San Jose Sharks 8-0 on Saturday night.
"Jacques Plante was one of the inventors of the game and a Hall of Famer," Joseph said. "Anytime you can be mentioned in the same breath as Jacques Plante it's a tremendous compliment."
Joseph, making his second consecutive start after sitting out four of the previous five, stopped 19 shots in the first period en route to his 48th career shutout.
