PASADENA, Calif. (AP) - Two of the top college football teams in the nation not playing for the national championship will hook up in a traditional Big Ten-Pac Ten, Rose Bowl matchup. Third-ranked Michigan and number-eight Southern California meet later today in Pasadena after late-season losses erased both of them from the title picture.
The Outback Bowl in Tampa is the first kickoff of the day. That one is pitting 17th-ranked Tennessee against Penn State.
The Cotton Bowl is next up, with tenth-ranked Auburn taking on number 22 Nebraska in Dallas.
