CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Just before tipoff at every Charlotte home game, Bobcats officials let a kid run out onto the court and hand the game ball to the official. Kevin Garnett liked what he saw in the boy's hands: Good ol' leather.
Monday's Minnesota-Charlotte game marked the return of the leather ball an unprecedented midseason equipment change to appease players and coaches.
"Hallelujah for the new ball," Garnett said. "There is a God."
