 DOHA, Qatar (AP) - Nikolay Davydenko and Ivan Ljubicic advanced to the second round of the Qatar Open on Tuesday while former Australian Open champion Thomas Johansson lost to wild card Younes El Aynaoui.
The top-seeded Davydenko, ranked No. 3, beat South Korea's Lee Hyun-Taik 7-5, 6-4.
Ljubicic, seeded second, used powerful serving and strong baseline play to beat qualifier Denis Gremelmayr of Germany 6-1, 6-2.
