MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Once Connecticut got comfortable, they made things uneasy for West Virginia. Charde Houston and Kalana Greene scored 15 points apiece and the fifth-ranked Huskies overcame six turnovers in the opening minutes to post a 63-44 victory over the Mountaineers on Tuesday night.
"We don't always know what will work in a game," Connecticut coach Geno Auriemma said. "You have to let the game play out a bit and then decide what is best. Changing up the defenses and not letting them get comfortable was important. We got a lot of people involved inside and used our height advantage."
Tina Charles scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for her third career double-double in the Huskies' 18th straight win in the series against West Virginia (8-6, 0-2).
