LONDON (AP) - The U.S. dollar was up against other major currencies in late European trading Wednesday. Gold fell.
The euro traded at $1.3188, down from $1.3276 late Tuesday in New York. Later, in midday trading in New York, the euro fetched $1.3168.
Other dollar rates in Europe, compared with late Tuesday, included 119.44 Japanese yen, up from 119.05; 1.2243 Swiss francs, up from 1.2188; and 1.1697 Canadian dollars, up from 1.1649.
