Assets in Retail Money Market Funds Rise

NEW YORK (AP) - Assets of the nation's retail money market mutual funds rose by $9.01 billion in the latest week to $973.78 billion, the Investment Company Institute said Thursday.

Assets of taxable money market funds in the retail category rose by $6.52 billion to $746.90 billion for the week ended Wednesday, the Washington-based mutual fund trade group said. Tax-exempt fund assets rose by $2.48 billion to $226.87 billion.

Assets of institutional money market funds rose by $2.59 billion to $1.418 trillion for the same period. Among institutional funds, taxable money market fund assets rose by $862.1 million to $1.270 trillion; assets of tax-exempt funds rose by $1.73 billion to $148.10 billion.
