BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Sylvia Fowles and LSU made the most of second chances. Kept in check by Georgia in the first half, Fowles came up big with the game on the line, making plays on both ends of the court to give the sixth-ranked Lady Tigers a 57-55 victory Sunday against the 15th-ranked Lady Bulldogs in a Southeastern Conference game.
With the score tied at 55, Fowles had a shot blocked by Tasha Humphrey. But Fowles kept possession after the block and made the winning basket with 53 seconds remaining.
"There's always a second chance," said Fowles, who scored 14 of her 20 points in the second half. "It was a matter of who was going to take it. (Humphrey) blocked it the first time and I got the rebound."
