COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Robert Walter, the founder of Cardinal Health Inc., may be sued by federal regulators over accounting issues with the health care products and services company that date back to 2003.
Walter, scheduled to step down as chairman next year after giving up his role of chief executive last year, and four former officers and employees, have been notified that the Securities and Exchange Commission may begin civil or administrative action against them, Cardinal Health said in a regulatory filing on Thursday.
The action is separate from an SEC investigation of Cardinal and would not affect the company, Jason Strohm, vice president of investor relations, said on Friday.
