Some 40 organizations gathered outside the Capitol to ask the Texas Legislature to pass a resolution calling for a moratorium on coal-fired generating plants and to lead the state to cleaner energy solutions. (AP Photo/Harry Cabluck)AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Carrying signs with slogans of "Stop the Coal Rush" and "Shame on Texas," about 1,000 people rallied at the state Capitol to persuade lawmakers to abandon a plan to build up to 18 new coal-fired power plants.
