LONDON (AP) - The U.S. dollar was higher against other major currencies in European trading Monday. Gold fell.
The euro traded at $1.2956, down from $1.3006 late Friday. Later, in midday trading in New York, the euro fetched $1.2961.
Other dollar rates in Europe, compared with late Friday, included 121.83 Japanese yen, up from 121.64; 1.2535 Swiss francs, up from 1.2479; and 1.1749 Canadian dollars, up from 1.1720.
