PARIS (AP) - Shares of Bristol-Myers Squibb tumbled Monday while Sanofi Aventis stock edged up after a report that the French drugmaker had called off talks on a possible combination with the U.S.-based company.
Sanofi-Aventis SA shares rose 0.4 percent to close at 67.80 euros ($87.89) in Paris trading where it rose 2 percent earlier in the day after the British newspaper The Times reported over the weekend that Sanofi had ended discussions on the possible acquisition of Bristol-Myers amid a disagreement over the price.
In New York, shares of Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. fell $1.19, or 4.1 percent, to $27.33 in midday trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
