 BOSTON (AP) - Winning the Beanpot has long been a tradition for Boston University. Finding a new way to do it is a bit more difficult.
John Curry stopped 37 shots and Brian McGuirk scored 5:06 into overtime Monday night to lead BU to a 2-1 victory over Boston College — the Terriers' first OT victory over their archrivals in the annual scuffle for Boston's college hockey bragging rights.
"Beating BC after one period, or two periods, or three periods or five periods in overtime is always rewarding," coach Jack Parker said after BU won for the 28th time in the tournament's 55 years. "That means we've won more than all the other schools combined."
