Friend Says Smith's Baby Is Doing Well

Friday, February 16, 2007 10:48:19 PM
By JASON BRONIS and JESSICA ROBERTSON

A crime scene unit van of the Royal Bahamas Police Force is parked outside Horizons, the oceanfront home that was shared by Anna Nicole Smith and her partner, Howard K. Stern, in Nassau, Bahamas, Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007. Police crime scene investigators entered the mansion on Thursday but declined to answer questions from reporters. Stern filed a burglary report after claiming that a computer, home videos and other items were taken from the mansion before he returned from Florida, where the 39-year-old former model collapsed and died on Feb. 8. (AP Photo/Christine Aylen)NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) - Anna Nicole Smith's longtime partner is in shock over her death but her 5-month-old daughter is doing well, a friend of the couple said Friday. Eric Gibson spoke to reporters after visiting the ocean front mansion where Howard K. Stern, an attorney who represented Smith in various legal battles and starred on her reality TV show, has secluded himself.

"Howard's shook up. He's still in shock," Gibson told reporters through the window of a car as he left the gated estate, known as Horizons, where the 39-year-old former Playboy Playmate lived before her Feb. 8 death in a hotel in Hollywood, Fla.

Gibson said he saw Smith's daughter, Dannielynn, and that she seemed happy.
