OTTAWA (AP) - Mike Comrie and Dean McAmmond scored in the shootout to lead Ottawa to a 4-3 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night and give Senators coach Bryan Murray his 600th NHL victory.
Murray is the fifth coach to reach the mark, joining Scotty Bowman, Al Arbour, Dick Irvin and Pat Quinn, and he did it in 1,199 games. He earned his first win on Nov. 18, 1981, with Washington and holds the distinction of being the longest-serving coach without a Stanley Cup.
Mike Fisher had a goal and assist in regulation, and former Oilers McAmmond and Comrie scored against backup Jussi Markkanen in the shootout. Dany Heatley and Daniel Alfredsson added goals for Ottawa, which won its fifth straight and third consecutive at home.
