MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Venus Williams advanced with her second win following a four-month layoff with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki Tuesday night in the Cellular South Cup in Memphis.
Both players had trouble holding serve in the first set, leading to five service breaks in the set. Williams got the final break to take the first set.
Williams seemed in control in the second set, overpowering the 16-year-old and serving with a 4-0 lead. But as in her opening-round win Monday, Williams lost focus and allowed Wozniacki to tie it at 4-4.
