EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - Jason Kidd sounded resigned to the fact that he might be playing his last game Wednesday night for the New Jersey Nets, the team he led to its only NBA finals appearances.
Kidd was in the starting lineup at Continental Airlines Arena against the New Orleans Hornets, his first action since missing two games and the NBA All-Star game with a back injury.
Before the game, he said he had not spoken to Nets president Rod Thorn or general manager Ed Stefanski on Wednesday. Numerous reports have speculated that Kidd would end up with the Los Angeles Lakers, and Kidd said the Lakers were the only team he had heard was seriously interested in him.
