KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A construction worker died Wednesday when a 10-foot-deep trench he was working in collapsed onto him, authorities said.
The body of John Anderson, 51, was found by emergency crews under several feet of heavy, muddy soil hours after the trench being built in northern Kansas City caved in around 12:30 p.m, authorities said.
Firefighters were still working late Wednesday night to retrieve the body, said Fire Department Battalion Chief Joe Vitale.
